Don’t panic! I was in your shoes, I had the exact same moment as you.

We all want to start a blog and make money through blogging, that sounds amazing, “making money” isn’t it!

Yes!! You can do that probably, but all confusion comes towards us when we have a very low budget to start a blog.

At the very beginning, we didn’t have much money like $250-$500 to start a blog. So in this case what am I supposed to do?

You might even be confused about finding the cheapest way to start a blog, and so on.

To keep things in mind I’ve figured out what exactly is the cheapest way to start a blog. In this article, I will walk you through the 3 ways you can start a blog. Let’s drive in!

What is the Cheapest Way to Start a Blog?

The Cheapest Way to Start a Blog You need to follow only 3 steps that will cost you $40 to $100 dollars or less to set up your self-host blog.

As you are here it means you are thinking to start a blog but on a very low budget.

There are so many freaking people out there who make it complicated to start a blog means you need a lot of money to invest in it.

It’s wrong anyway, Blogging is the only business you can start with $100 or less. With little knowledge, you can explore the blogging world and make money at the same time.

So what you are waiting for?

If you have $40 to $100 or less, you can quickly start your own blog today. Now, follow the 3 steps below to start a blog on a budget.

Step 1. Buy Domain Name

Your first step is to buy a great domain name. Choosing a domain name is very important for your blog because it represents your online identity.

If you don’t know what is a domain name, let me give you a bit overview? A domain name is an online address or IP address for your blog.

If someone types your domain name or IP address into a browser it will point to your blog that’s called the domain name.

.com vs .co vs .net

Now figure out what type of domain extensions you need to buy. There are many controversies out there about domain extensions, someone says .com, .co, or many more.

I highly recommend going with .com or .co. A domain like .com is hard to find available, because, almost every blog name has with .com been already sold.

In this case, you can pick .co instead of .com. Because the .co domain is quite like .com, some people called it the sister of .com.

I’m sure you might get the availability of almost every domain with .co.

Someone also prefers to go with .net… Whatever domain extensions you will pick don’t matter at all, all it matters is to produce high-quality content.

People only visit your blog when they find something relevant according to their intention.

The domain extensions haven’t any affected or advantage on search results according to Google.

All you need to do is keyword research for your blog post and write quality content around it. Only this way can you make your blog stand out.

But make sure you’re going with .com or .co, that would be good for branding.

However, I highly recommend before picking a blog name make sure it is short & relevant so visitors can easily access your website.

But avoid kinds of domains that include letters, numbers, or hyphens. You need to avoid this type of character so it’s easy to remember and type into a web browser.

Where to Buy a Domain Name at a Cheap Price?

When you have done everything about the domain name, next to make the final decisions. So where to buy your favorite domain name?

I highly recommend buying it from Namecheap, Bluehost, Domain.com, Name.com, etc they are good in terms of domain management.

But I personally like Namecheap that actually cheaper than any other domain provider.

You will get a .com domain for $7-$10 while others will charge around $10-15. But it is all up to you, you can buy your domain name anywhere and from any provider.

Once you have bought a Domain Name Now What? The next step you need to follow is to choose blog hosting. As you read this blog post, you need something that saves your pocket.

Step 2. Buy Web Hosting

The controversy comes when the time to buy web hosting for blogging. As you want to start a blog for under $100, let’s find out what web hosting is full on your bucket list.

Alright, the next step is to host your blog on a server, to do that you have to buy hosting services for server space. Now, don’t pressure yourself we have a solution for you.

A web hosting company is one of the most confusing markets ever because there are tons of options out there.

Note: If you want to start a blog, I believe that WordPress is the best possible platform for everyone. And this article is also based on that.

I have had a pretty good experience with web hosting since 2018. Since then I have hosted almost 3 of my blog on a different web host. Some of them are pretty good and some are worst than ever.

With that in mind if you want to start a blog on a budget (for under $50) here are the only two hosting companies I recommend, NameCheap and Hostinger.

From past experience, I think these two hostings make the process of starting a blog as easy as it could possibly be.

NOTE: If your budget is up to $50+ then go to Bluehost, Inmotion, or ScalaHosting, Cloudways (Anytime Gurrented Hosting). These are my personal favorite, you can give them a try if your budget is high.

Note: If you prefer Bluehost then Must read this Guide: How to start a WordPress blog on Bluehost (Step by Step Guide)

Now, Let’s figure out which hosting you are going to choose either Namecheap or Hostinger. let me explain about them.

1. NameCheap

Namecheap is one of the cheap web hosting as its name suggests. But it is good hosting for a new blog.

As you can imagine no blog receives tons of traffic at the beginning. So it’s better to start!!

Warning! As I mentioned, this post is all about blogging on a budget, So I share the exact way to save cost don’t think wrong.

You might know that the major cost of starting a blog is buying web hosting and Namecheap is the best option for cost-saving.

I have even started my very first blog on Namecheap and I’ve been using Namecheap since 2018.

Also, Installing WordPress with Namecheap is also so easy and fun. Since then I have never faced any issues.

Even if It costs…

If you talk about the price that’s pretty cheap whether other hosting costs you more. It cost you a starter plan of $18.44/ yr for 3 Websites along with free CDN.

It would be good if you have a really low budget. However, I recommend Stellar Plus plans that cost you $31.84/ yr with unlimited websites and auto-backup…

You see, you will get the hosting within $18 T0 $32 which is pretty much cheap in the hosting industry. And comes with lots of features…

So if you want to start a blog on a budget under $40 then NameCheap would be the ideal choice.

As your budget is low, you have to save money to invest in other essential stuff like themes, and plugins.

NOTE: I don’t recommend Namecheap for high-traffic blogs. If your blog has tons of traffic then migrate your blog with WPengine or Cloudways.

2. Hostinger

However, if you don’t like Namecheap for some reason you can pick Hostinger which costs you around $35 dollars per year which is also fantastic.

Normally, Hostinger web hosting price is higher than Namecheap’s. You can host only one website with their basic plan but in NameCheap, you can host 3 sites.

There are many ways NameCheap is better than Hostinger. The choice is yours and your blog’s vision.

Step 3. Design your Blog

You might think why would I buy a WordPress theme when there are tons of free themes available. The reason for selecting a premium WordPress blog theme is to save time.

The free theme is more complicated, even if it’s a bit hard to learn. If you explore something that has no value for the future, why would you learn that thing?

For example, you install a free theme and learn completely all about the theme and letter when you have got the money you move to a premium theme.

That’s work weird when you move one to another theme because you need to learn again from scratch.

So it’s better to buy today so that you can focus on other things. In a paid WordPress theme, there are so many features and demos that you can use to save time.

If you think that is worth paying for a WordPress theme, the answer is YES. There is plenty of blog theme out there that cost you around $39 to $59, which is great.

If so there is one of my favorite blog themes The7 you can try. It is a multi-purpose theme for WordPress.

It’s super fast and easy to customize that costs you $39 dollars but it’s worth paying. The7 is one of the best-selling themes on ThemeForest after Avada.

As we fixed with to start a blog under $100 for that The7 is suitable for you. Whether you start an online store or agency, you can make whatever you want.

Some other popular themes you can start with if your budget is a bit high, like Avada, Neve, Genesis, and many more.

You can also pick any theme instead of my recommendations from Themeforest or StudioPress.
