When it comes to writing high-quality articles for your readers, blog content writing tools are a must.

There are many reasons you should use writing tools in order to improve overall quality.

Here’s why you should use them…

1. Readability

Readability refers to how easy it is for someone to read and understand your content for someone.

Using complex words can hurt your audience’s interest to read & understand your content. In most cases, readers don’t like content that includes heavy complex words.

Using a strong vocabulary doesn’t mean that you are a good writer. If your audience doesn’t understand what you want to share with them, you fail in your writing.

So, using content writing tools can be a lifesaver, it helps you to improve readability that your audience will love.

2. Grammar

Whether you are a native or non-native, Grammar is super important in blog writing. Because grammar mistakes affect the overall readability of your content.

A blog post with grammatical errors makes it harder for your blog audience to understand the message you are trying to get across.

That’s probably not something you want to address in writing. Using writing tools that can help you improve your blog posts is human-friendly.

3. On-time help

Content writing tools are always available for your help. You don’t need to wait for getting help from these tools.

All You have to do is search for the tool on the internet and add it to your browser and start using it. Or maybe install it on your computer and use it.

It has the ultimate flexibility in the way you want to use them. By far writing tools are always there for your rescue.

5. Check plagiarism

Plagiarism is an intolerable offense in blog writing. If your content has plagiarism in them, you can easily get penalties from search engines and site owners.

In severe cases of plagiarism, you can’t get ranked on search. Because search engines like Google always want fresh and original content.

Anyway, I would like to list out some of the best writing tools that I’ve been using for 2 years.

6 Best Blog Writing Tools for Bloggers (2024)

When it comes to blog writing, you have to choose the best content writing tools. There are plenty of writing tools listed on the web, and you must know about them.

In this post, I will only tell you about the tools that I personally use for my daily blog writing.

Let’s see what they are!! Why could you try them??

1. Coschedule Headline Analyzer

CoSchedule Headline Analyzer is the top headline analyzer on the internet. It is one of the best content writing tools for SEO.

CoSchedule is well known because of its popular marketing calendars but they also have a  headline analyzer.

I’ve tested out their marketing calendars BUT the Headline analyzer is my personal favorite. It’s one of the most detailed headline analyzers I have ever used in my blogging career.

The tool gives you an ultimate score and tips to make a better headline. Basically, they provide some metrics to check the title for the following factors:

  • Word Balance
  • Headline Type
  • Length Analysis
  • Keywords
  • Sentiment
  • Google Search Preview
  • Email Subject Line Preview
  • First Three, Last Three Words

You know that most people click or read the content of any article based on a kick-start headline.

Most often bad headlines discourage readers from visiting your blog. As they are sometimes penalized by search engines like Google.

But CoSchedule breaks all the analysis down into sentiment, clarity, word, and character count. Technically, it gives a sense of a better headline.

However, It comes in both free and paid versions. But A new account will only get you 3 free headlines analyzed on their premium services.

If you stay on the free version after the first 3 trials you will get limited features. But their paid version will show you more suggested word types that literally help you improve your headline:

Also, it generates SEO scores on a separate tab with a detailed breakdown.  With the SEO score, you can guess how your headline will rank over your competitors.

However, the CoSchedule analyzer is among the best for a writer or blogger, so you should not miss it. To start using, create an account, and remember that you get 3 premium uses.

2. HemingwayApp

Hemingway Editor is a free online blog writing tool for bloggers that will make your content tight and powerful. It is a text editor that’s available for anyone to use at hemingwayapp.com.

This tool lets you draft your blog posts and check for things like spelling mistakes, grammar errors, use of adverbs, and passive voice. Technically, it ensures how easy your content is to read.

One of the most interesting aspects of this tool is its color highlighting so you’ll know precisely what issues you need to fix and where they are.

Their suggestions focus on a few key aspects of your writing. In regards to readability, it displays a readability grade that reflects your written content. A lower grade means better content.

Whether you are new to blog writing or professional, this free writing tool has everything you need to polish content. I believe it gives simple yet useful recommendations.

Therefore, if you want a quick free editor to give you a few key suggestions, Hemingway is the best writing tool you need to use.

3. Grammarly

Grammarly is an excellent blog writing tool & grammar checker tool no matter what type of writer you are. It essentially functions as the spell checker tool from Microsoft Word or Google Docs.

But the fun part is that it’s a plug-in that will work wherever you write. Whether you write something on Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, or Google Docs, it works anywhere.

Also, it offers vocabulary or alternate word suggestions that let you use the right words in your writing.

It’s used by millions of people because it’s able to catch over 400 complex writing errors that are often overlooked.

Most importantly If it finds any error, it’ll provide a detailed explanation of why there’s an error. That literally helps you to prevent the same mistakes in the future.

According to statistics by Grammarly, 76% of users find writing more enjoyable. And 99% of student users see improvement in their writing, and 85% of users become better writers.

This is the only reason I trust Grammarly and consider it one of my favorite writing tools and I use it every single day for blogging.

However, Grammarly is free to use, all you need to add it to your browser extension or a desktop app that you can use offline. You don’t need to use the paid version until you need it.

4. ProWritingAid

ProWritingAid is the best alternative to Grammarly. It is not only a grammar checker, but also a style editor, and AI-powered writing mentor.

If you want to start using this tool, you first have to upload your content into their editor. After that, you will be given a summary of all the suggestions you need to improve.

One thing I love ProWritingAid is, It simplifies its suggestions into three groups:

  • Grammar
  • Spelling
  • Style

They offer some interesting facts such as “Key Actions” that I’ve found really valuable and relevant.

On the other hand, their word usage analysis tools help to compare it with the rest of their users.

ProWritingAid also measures readability such as the Flesch-Kincaid Grade. This ensures ease of reading, and the higher the reading score, the easier it’s to read.

It provides analytical and granular writing recommendations, something I find more amazing than Grammarly

I’d say Grammarly is a better writing app in terms of grammar accuracy. But with ProWritingAid you will get some contextual realities that Grammarly doesn’t.

If you’re thinking about changing Grammarly, trying ProWritingAid would be a great idea.

These two blog writing tools are close competitors. Most Importantly it is cost-effective and it is only $60 for a yearly license.

5. Google Docs

Google Docs is one of the most popular blog writing tools for bloggers can use. It’s not just for startups and non-enterprise organizations, it is for everyone who wants better blog writing.

It is equal to the classic Microsoft Word, but it’s useful and pain-free instead of being clunky and annoying with all of Microsoft’s products.

The major advantage of this writing tool is that you can use it anywhere. It works offline most of the time and online as well. It’s lightweight, has tons of features, and is obviously free of use.

It also has great flexibility if you work with an editor or client who wants to make any suggestions without disrupting your content.

It has worked flexibly:

  • You can collaborate with your team or clients easily
  • It’s easy to store your documents and access them anywhere in the world
  • You can easily create content and export the documents as PDFs
  • Most Importantly you don’t have to install software on your computer

One of the best features of Google Docs is its capacity to integrate it with any tool as well as Google’s suite of tools.

For example, you can add any writing software tools, like Grammarly, or  ProWritingAid. By far, it is my go-to blog writing tool for when I’ve finished developing the outline and first draft.

You know It helps me organize and present information in a better way, thus making blog articles richer. However, Google Docs is one of the best writing tools you can ever hope to use.
